Canada, parts of the north

can-mappa2.jpg

The Canada deserves a deeper and do better going to analyze the areas of the north with Eureka showed the strongest anomalies estatidegli species during the last 10-20 years. Deepen Eureka, on the Arctic, Cambridge Bay, a little further south and closer to the continent, then Cartwright with his important position overlooking the shores of Labrador to Greenland. This, , the link to the previous post about Canada.

Monthly average of three locations:

Clearly, much colder than the Arcticin Cartwright, which among other things, there is also much farther south and a sea ice only a few months a year. We see the trends of the three summer and winter resort in the north Canada (data from 1940):

The average annual:

The charts can be found several indications climate with significant differences between the three locations. In general, all show a decrease by at least 40 years around the years 60-70 and then increased in recent decades, in line with the general trend of GW. However, there are several details such as the minimum 90 years in Cartwright and the exaltation of the anomalies winter in Eureka in the mid-2000.

Cartwright shows well the changes in the polar vortex during the 90 years that saw a strengthening of the VP with its focus between Greenland and Canada in the north-east, while Eureka show the "signs" of the decline in Arctic ice.

All show in the annual average, a sharp increase immediately after the first 90 years after the fall of the effects of Pinatubo.

Cambridge Bay to Eureka and very little snow, cold and dry zones, about 4 cm of snow in the month in Eureka and just over 6 cm in Cambridge Bay, whereas Cartwright is exposed to the swirling action of the polar vortex and placed in front of the sea and the snow often exceed 500 cm per year. We see the data of snowfall and then monthly data between October and May and then the summer in Cartwright:

Only in July and August never see snow at Cartwright, in 2000 are slightly decreased the average monthly except in February but the smallest of snow we were in the 60s that were also the warmest of the entire series in the winter.

Obviously there would be much to say about Canada, a country blighted the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, the rigors and anomalies polar and the polar vortex, an area very sensitive to even minor variations configurable VP and then a very important indicator for the global climate, but speber of giving at least some useful points to a greater understanding of Canada's climate and its changes over time.
