In the last year New Zealand’s glaciers has shrunk and lost lost 2.2 billion ice. It’s because temperature on New Zealand’s has rise 3 degrees Celsius in this century and it’s make difficult for the glaciers to gain their ice again. In the last 20 year remaining ice has shrunk by 18 % and now only 44.9 cubic kilometers remaining. This is the lowest ever.
Glaciers South Island’s biggest tourist attractions, but scientist say that the glacier will disappear when temperature increase to 7 degrees and no new snow. This is may be could happen if global warming effect cannot be reduce. Not only New Zealand’s glaciers, but another glacier in the other country can be disappear too.
